HOW TO GET HOME SAFE
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
- Travel on all Adelaide Metro trains, trams and buses across SA will be free and extra services will be provided on several routes between 5pm tomorrow night and dawn on New year’s Day.
- The free NYE services operate to different timetables than regular services so please check adelaidemetro.com.au for more information.

TRAMS
- Trams will operate to a very high frequency all day and night on New Year’s Eve.
- Due to New Year’s Eve celebrations in Mosley Square Glenelg, tram services will terminate at stop 15 Brighton Road from 6pm until approximately 4am.
- Tram stops 16 and 17 Jetty Road will be closed during this time.
- An extra tram bus shuttle will run between the city and Glenelg.
TAXIS
- Adelaide Access Taxis will operate all night on New Year’s Eve.

PARKING IN THE CITY
- Parking will be available at City of Adelaide UPark’s as well as on-street parking around the City of Adelaide.
- With limited on street parking available due to the Adelaide Strikers v Brisbane Heat cricket at Adelaide Oval, UPark has a number of car parks that are within walking distance of the Adelaide Riverbank, including UPark on Topham, UPark on Gawler Place and UPark on Light Square.

Family-friendly fireworks at 9.30pm can be viewed from anywhere in the Yarra Park precinct, while Maribyrnong council is also offering a family fireworks event at Footscray Park from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
- In the CBD, spectators can watch the midnight fireworks from anywhere in the city. “If you can see the city skyline, you can see our fireworks,” Cr Wood said.
- The City of Melbourne has forked out $2.8 million for this New Year’s Eve party — down from the $3 million spent last year. About $200,000 of the budget has been spent on fireworks.
- Many CBD and Docklands streets will be closed to traffic to keep revellers safe throughout the celebrations, with hundreds of extra uniformed and plainclothes police officers patrolling the city.
